Este proyecto surge de la búsqueda de evocar la necesidad de compartir, en estos tiempos de crisis climática y económica global. Invité a siete artistas que trabajan con nociones de migración y personificación, para intervenir la instalación produciendo una obra comestible y/o performance a partir de las narrativas de sus propias prácticas.

Mi participación fue una comida/instalación titulada “Alien Potation”, con 120 papas al plomo pendientes de móviles colgantes desde el techo, calientes y listas para ser comidas. La pared fue cubierta por una bandera de 8 x 4 m con un patrón de papas impreso escaneado en 3d. La instalación fue acompañada por un menú, símil carta de restaurante, que contenía la información de créditos y textos de la exhibición.

El proyecto propone una situación donde los conceptos fabricados, con su específica narrativa, inter-actúan para crear nuevas ideas en propios contextos. ¿Cómo y dónde encontramos bordes? ¿Cómo los vivenciamos? ¿De qué formas se vuelven visibles en la comida? fueron algunas de las preguntas que se generaron. El inminente aislamiento, el bloqueo de fronteras y el Brexit estaban teniendo lugar en ese mismo momento.

Texto de la exposición, por Arieh FroshThis project arises from the intention to evoke the need to share, in these times of global climate and economic crisis. I invited seven artists who work with ideas of migration and embodiment, to intervene in the installation by producing an edible artwork and/or performance based on the narratives of their own practices.

I participated with a dish/installation titled “Alien Potation”, with 120 baked potatoes suspended from mobiles hanging from the ceiling, hot and ready to be eaten. The wall was covered by an 8 x 4 m flag with a 3d scanned printed potato pattern. The installation was accompanied by a menu, similar to a restaurant menu, which contained the credits information and texts of the exhibition.

The project proposes a situation where the built concepts, with their specific narrative, intra-act to create new ideas in their own contexts. How and where do we find borders? How do we experience them? In which ways do they become visible in food? were some of the questions we spent time with. The imminent isolation, boarders lockdown and Brexit were taking place at the time.
